Come celebrate the opening of the much anticipated City of Bhangra festival. Experience the love and passion our fair city has for the art of Punjabi folk dance. The colourful vibrancyof VIBC will be brought to life through a variety of dance and music performances.

The Opening Reception also launches “Bhangra.me: Vancouver’s Bhangra Story” – a highly anticipated exhibition telling the story of cultural expression and activism through arts and culture over the course of 40 years. Launching on this evening, the exhibit carries through until late October 2011.

Attended by Mayor Gregor Robertson and key members of the Bhangra community, this grand ceremony will give the VIBC Society an opportunity to thank all those who make our annual events possible.
