Today marks the official beginning of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics here in Vancouver, British Columbia. As the streets fill with numerous people sporting vibrant red and whites, we can definitely feel the city come to life.

Singing sensation and Punjabi actor, Harbhajan Mann who starred in "Jee Aayan Nyu" in 2002 and "Asa Nu Mann Watna Da" has been labelled star of the Punjabi movie world.

Prior to Harbhajan's success in acting, he was known for his talent for singing. Many record labels such as HMV, Music Bank. T-Series, Saga, Movie Box and Think Big Entertainment have signed with him producing some of Harbhajan's music from 1988 - 2008.

Choreographer, singer, dance educationist, Shiamak Davar is the creator of his very own Indo Jazz in which Western Jazz and Indian movement are combined.

Shiamak has fans from all over from India, UAE, South Africa, Australia to Canada and the United States of America.

Local band, En Karma have already begun rehearsing for the upcoming "Quantum Bhangra". Along with legendary vocalist, Shin (picture), they are excited to be representing asian music at the Vancouver 2010 Cultural Olympiad.

As the Olympic torch makes its way to Vancouver, the city prepares itself for the world to visit. The VIBC Society and Asian Television Network (ATN) are excited to show our guests what Bhangra is all about at Quantum Bhangra presented with the Vancouver 2010 Culturial Oylmpiad.

Teams from across the world competing on stage during one historic night: On May 8, 2010, be a part of North America’s premiere Bhangra event in the City of Bhangra Competition hosted by the Vancouver International Bhangra Celebration Society.

Quantum Bhangra multiplies the party, collecting influences and styles from around the world — rock, funk, hip-hop and jazz —  and weaving them together with a common thread of bhangra and Punjabi folk traditions.
